FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
- Thoroughly clean the area where the Hook self-adhesive Plate Pad is going to be fitted. IMPORTANT: This area must be completely free of all traces of oil, grease, wax, polish, dirt, dust, rust and moisture. Thoroughly dry the area. Do not fit in temperatures below 13°C (55°F) as this will affect the adhesion of the product. You can warm the fitting area where the pad is going to be stuck using a hair dryer, or by installing it in a warm garage.
- Using one of the Surface Cleaning Sachets provided, wipe over the fitting area, removing any last traces of contaminants to ensure a strong adhesion is achieved.
- Ensure the back of the number plate is clean and follow the cleaning instructions as detailed in (1) and (2) above using the other cleaning sachet to give the back of the number plate a final clean.
- Stick the Hook self-adhesive Plate Pad to the area you wish to fit the number plate to (vehicle/trailer etc). Peel a few centimetres of the backing paper away to expose the adhesive. Fold the backing paper down to make a flap. Stick the exposed adhesive end into position on the fitting area (vehicle/trailer etc) and apply pressure. Slowly peel the flap of the backing paper away from the adhesive a few centimetres at a time, rubbing down firmly as you go. Once the Hook Plate Pad is stuck in position apply firm pressure for a few minutes. Note: once the pad has been stuck in position it cannot be repositioned, adjusted or moved.
- Then stick the Loop adhesive Plate Pad to the back of the number plate. Use the same method as described in instruction (4) above.
The adhesive takes a full 24 hours to achieve optimum strength, so do not join both pads together until after this time. Do not wash the fitting area (vehicle/trailer etc) within 3 days of installation of the Hook Plate Pad.
The plate pads aredesigned for flat mounting surfaces only; however, they will accomodate a small degree of curvature (approximately 5%). The Plate PAds can be fitted to some surfaces with raised areas or protrusions;however, some trimming or removal of material may be required to achieve a satisfactory fit. Before cutting the Plate Pads (material) make sure they will fit the intended area correctly as we do not accept any returns or give any refunds for cut, modified or damaged Plate Pads.
